The End of an Era

Sun Jul 6, 2014, 8:20 PM
It has come to my attention that cosplay is no longer fun. It used to be - but as I believed the most fun part of cosplay was the people of whom were brought into my life because of it, this is no longer the case.
I've met a lot of great people because of this extraordinary hobby. But the continuing idea of that has be scorned by so many of the opposite - using cosplay as the only thing they have in their lives to boost their ill-mannered egotistical demeanour. It hurts. As people who I once saw as friends now consider cosplay fame and online reputation more important than friendship, I understand now that life is too short. There are not enough minutes to waste on people who are obviously not worth it.

Cosplay is not my life. I enjoyed it. It brought great pleasure and moments into my life. And now that it no longer does, it's time to let it go.

I may or may not cosplay here or there, but I will CERTAINLY continue to make costumes. But these will be more original historical pieces or something of the sort.

I'm very sorry if I had plans to cosplay something with any of you. I can no longer hold true to that word. Please understand that I had no original intention of it increasing to this degree.

My last cosplays at this time are:
Mystique - Xmen FC
Charles Xavier - Xmen FC
Smaug - Original Design - The Hobbit
Kili - The Hobbit
A jedi of some sort - might be original design - might be Obi-Wan. Tough call.

Everything else, (except for cosplays I've previous specified), I'll be selling.

I'll be attending Stan Lee's Comikaze in LA in October, and I will be cosplaying there. Not sure what yet, but I will be.
If I know you and you're local, feel free to shoot me a message so you can come over and pick fabric you might want. I have a lot to get rid of.

This account will remain active, as again, I will still continue to make costumes, and take the occasional commission.
However my heart and soul will move on to music. Sadly, it looks like my cosplay era is coming quickly to an end.

Ciao for now-

  • Mood: Tired
  • Listening to: Second Chance (Instrumental) - Artemae
  • Drinking: Tea

Hi, first love, love your Captain America costume! Did you make it? and where did you have the shield made? I must have a shield like that!

Thank you! Yes - I designed and constructed my Captain America costume.
My shield was actually custom made by the guy who made the one in the First Avenger, as a special favor, and cost around $1200. I additionally had a custom case made for it for an additional 700.
Thank you again ^^
